New TRRA Chairman – Scott Green

New TRRA Chairman - Scott GreenCongratulations to the new TRRA Chairman, Scott Green!

Scott has been the Vice Chairman for two years and is now stepping into the Chairman role. Along with running the day to day functions of the referee association, Scott will also be spearheading a major recruiting and training effort. The TRU is boasting 6-10 new teams a year while we are only adding 4-5 referees per year. This is priority number one for Scott and he will be working with the current referees, TRU Clubs and the TRU to host several training sessions for aspiring and beginning referees.

Scott brings plenty of experience to the role as he has been a referee in Texas for more than six years as well as his work as a USA Rugby National Panel referee. Priority number two will be a focus on working with current TRU clubs to train ARs as well as continue to foster dialogue about the application of the laws.

At the time of Scott’s nomination there were no other nominations accepted for the role of Vice Chairman. We are happy to continue looking for a suitable candidate, please reach out to Scott if interested. However, the association did decide to add regional representatives so that each region is appropriately represented and these individuals will work with Scott to develop their areas:
