The Heart of America Referee Society will be hosting a Referee O1 in Kansas City, KS, on Sunday March 3rd, 2013. The Location is Bishop Ward High School. 708 N. 18th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66102. The class will start at 8:30 a.m. It is mandatory attendance for the entire class to pass the class. The fee for the certification is 50.00 dollars, and is payable to USA Rugby online prior to the class. The fee can be paid online at USA Rugby up to 48 hours prior to the class. You must be a CIPP enrolled Member with USA Rugby to receive your certification. Walk in registration is 75.00 dollars. The participants must complete prior to the class the IRB rugby ready and laws exam and bring the certificates to the class.
The Classroom is will discuss “The Modern Game Management of Rugby”. The topics discussed are Risk Management, Referee Development, Principles of Refereeing, Law Interpretation, Positioning, Fitness and Drills to improve your Refereeing.
The Class culminates with the successful completion of an open book law test administered at the end of the session. The Class time is between 6-8 hours to complete, depending on the participants. The course materials include the IRB Rugby Refereeing in Practice, Law Book, Whistle, and Red and Yellow Cards. Wear appropriate clothing as parts of each lesson will be preformed outside or in the gym.
