TRRA Board Elections 2020-21

On June 20th, the TRRA AGM was held as a virtual event for all members to attend, it was also recorded for members who were not available to watch at a later time. As part of the AGM, the Board for the following season was elected.

We had a record-breaking 14 members running for 5 Board positions, congratulations to all that ran and the following who were elected to represent next season.

TRRA AGM Weekend – June 16-18, 2017

The TRRA Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, June 17 at 7pm at the Comfort Suites Austin Airport. That’s not the only event on tap for the weekend though, starting on Friday, June 16 we will have an open 7s Training with Paddy Mac and Nick Ricono with the USA Rugby 7s High Performance Team.

Then on Saturday, June 17 all of our referees will be out at the 20th Annual Bloodfest 7s Tournament officiating over 50 teams at the Northeast Metro Park in Pflugerville, TX.  Our referees will be joined in the afternoon by the participants of the L1 Referee Course being held the same day.

The weekend will wrap up on Sunday with another 7s Training for our RRRC 7s pool of referees.

  • Friday, June 16 – at 7pm at Comfort Suites Austin Airport –  Training with Paddy Mac and Nick Ricono from USA Rugby 7s High Performance
  • Saturday, June 17 at 8am at Northeast Metro Park – Officiate RRRC or Social 7s
  • Saturday, June 17 at 7pm at Comfort Suites Austin Airport – AGM with pizza and beer!
  • Sunday, June 18 at 9am-12pm – RRRC 7s Pool Referee Training

TRRA AGM – June 17th @ Austin, TX

Please join us for our Annual General Meeting on the evening of June 17!

Bloodfest is this weekend and this year its a two day event with RRRC knockout rounds on Sunday. An exciting weekend of rugby and we can take care of our annual business at the same time. More info to come on hotels and the tournament.

We will be nominating a new Chairman and Vice Chairman so start thinking about who you would like the new leadership to be.

2016 TRRA Elections

A short note to announce that we have opened the floor to nominations for the 2016/17 Chairman and Vice Chairman positions. Nominations will be accepted until Midnight, Saturday, August 6th, 2016.

We will then open the floor to voting after the nomination window has closed.

TRRA AGM – Aug 20 @ TRU Summit

All,

The TRRA AGM is just around the corner which means it is time to elect the TRRA Chairman and Vice Chairman. This year it will be held in conjunction with the TRU Summit at the Allen Griffins world class facility, The Den on August 20th @ 4pm.

The TRU Summit will be offering both L1 and TJ-AR courses and it would be great to have TRRA referees there to help out where needed.

As well as the TRRA AGM, the TRU AGM and TRU Hall of Fame will be taking place over the weekend. So make sure you come out to this great event and get involved. Please check your WTR account for an invite.

TRRA AGM on Sunday, July 19

Texas Rugby Referee AssociationThe TRRA will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, July 19 in Houston, TX. Meeting location is still being finalized; tentatively scheduled from 10am to 4pm.

All TRRA members (in good standing) are invited to attend, but need to RSVP (see invite from Who’s the Ref) by July 10, 2015 to ensure adequate room size and lunch reservations. Non-TRRA members are welcome, please send your RSVP to the TRU Admin (admin@texasrugbyunion.com).

Agenda items will be posted to the web accordingly and new business items and/or discussion item requests can be sent to tschmidtke@texasrugbyunion.com for addition to the meeting agenda.

TRRA Chairman and Vice Chairman Nominees

Texas Rugby Referee AssociationThe nomination window has closed for TRRA Chairman and Vice Chairman.  The nominations received were: Traci Schmidtke (Chairman).  There were no nominations for Vice Chair submitted by the deadline.  

Therefore there will be a call for nominations for Vice Chair at the AGM. Voting will occur at the TRRA AGM, August 2, 2014; we highly encourage all referees to attend.

If a referee cannot attend, they may submit their vote by absentee (email) by Friday, August 1, 2014 at 5pm. Note that absentee votes must be sent digitally to admin@texasrugbyunion.com. Or you may give your proxy to another TRRA Member who will be attending the meeting, notice of this proxy must be sent digitally to admin@texasrugbyunion.com by Friday, August 1, 2014 at 5pm. Per the bylaws, each TRRA Member can only hold one proxy.

TRRA Chairman and Vice Chairman Nomination Process

Texas Rugby Referee AssociationThe TRRA R&L Committee is now accepting nominations for individuals interested in running for Chairman or Vice Chairman. Individuals may nominate themselves by submitting a rugby resume as well as a personal statement (maximum 500 words) explaining why they wish to run for either position. Individuals may also nominate others, the R&L will contact these individuals to determine if they accept the nomination and acquire the requested documents.

Please send nominations to the TRU Admin, admin@texasrugbyunion.com; Note that the nomination window closes July 25, 2014. Nominations will be posted on the TRU website no later than July 28, 2014 for all members to review. Voting will occur at the TRRA AGM, August 2, 2014; we highly encourage all referees to attend.

TRRA Proposed Bylaws – Voting OPEN

Texas Rugby Referee AssociationAt this time the online voting for the proposed TRRA Bylaws is open; voting closes on July 11th at midnight. Referee members on the Texas Rugby Referee Association CIPP Roster can now vote to approve the proposed bylaws. If you are CIPP’d as a referee but on a Team’s roster only, that is not eligible as you have not paid TRRA dues. Please note we are holding this online vote in order to have the opportunity for these bylaws to be approved prior to the TRRA AGM.

TRRA Standards & Pathway Document Review

Texas Rugby Referee AssociationWith the TRRA AGM coming up in August, the R&L Committee is reviewing a few things (bylaws!) and that includes the Standards and Pathway documentation.
